MC-130P Combat Shadow

The MC-130P Combat Shadow (69-5827 pictured here, formerly the HC-130N) flies clandestine or low visibility/low-level missions into politically sensitive or hostile territory to provide air refueling of special operations helicopters, and the infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply of special operations forces by airdrop or airland operations. The MC-130P primarily flies its missions at night in order to reduce detection and intercept by airborne threats.

The gunship version of this aircraft is the AC-130.
