Clark's nutcrackers are grey, crow-like birds that live in subalpine forests high in the mountains, and are especially common where whitebark pine is present. They dig out seeds from whitebark pine cones and store them to eat during the winter and spring, but they usually store more seeds than they need. The leftover seeds sprout and a new crop of trees is started. This is an important way whitebark pine forests spread. This one was seen in the Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Here is another picture of a Clark's Nutcracker in this photo collection.
