At the entrance to the Barton Springs Swimming Pool (on the grounds of Zilker Park; Austin, Texas), is this bronze sculpture depicting three of Austin's mid-19th century personalities: naturalist Roy Bedichek, humorist J. Frank Dobie and historian Walter Prescott Webb. Artist Glenna Goodacre captured the essence of these three friends who used to schmooze together at this location. All three philosophers are in mid-discussion, casually attired and revealing potbellies, wrinkles, and sagging muscles. The sculpture was installed in 1994.
