The San Jacinto Monument, in Houston, Texas on a very foggy morning. This is the world's tallest memorial column, 15 feet taller than the Washington Monument. The Battle of San Jacinto was fought on this site in 1836, when Sam Houston's Texans routed Santa Anna's Mexican forces. |
